Harmony House

New York, NY

Two manufacturing buildings were combined and received gut rehabilitation and a three-story addition.

The residence was designed as a supportive home for 68 self-sufficient, homeless adults. Living quarters are fully accessible studio apartments with individual kitchen units and bathrooms. Support space includes a commercial kitchen and a dining room large enough to accommodate all residents at one sitting, a recreation room, laundry room, social service offices and exam rooms. A roof terrace on the fifth floor was created for the residents' use.
