Park Place Station Franklin Ave Shuttle

New York, NY

This project was the product of a schematic design study for five stations on a shuttle line that connects two major express lines in Brooklyn. The station's design included historical references to the station it replaced and other MTA stations from the era.

Architectural elements and materials (e.g. railings, windows, canopies, roof treatment and interior/exterior finishes) were selected for appropriateness to the site and to replicate the character of 1940's 'D' line stations.

Concerns for handicapped accessibility by patrons of the nearby Interfaith Medical Center were a major factor in the development of the site and the location of the new station house.
